Sally has been passionate about music since a very young age. She began formal musical training on piano at the age of five and studied under the tutelage of Debra Nicodemus for 13 years. With a solid and long-standing background in music, having also studied classical and music theatre voice throughout high school with Susan Solomon Beckley, Sally entered the Wagner College Theatre program as a performance major. While at Wagner, she honed her experience acting into a true craft – an education that she utilizes today for complete performance training in her teaching.

A highlight of her New York City experience is the time she spent working with Broadway composer and lyricist, Richard Adler.  Under his wing she was given the opportunity to work with and perform for some of the biggest names in NYC and Broadway.

Since returning to Harrisburg, Sally has worked in youth opera, high school musical theatre, and local professional theatre  – directing and music directing for the past 20 years.  For five of those years she was director and music director of Bishop McDevitt High School Crusader Players’ musical theatre productions, where along with a dedicated team of parents and professionals, built a Hershey Theatre Apollo Award-winning program.  She was a founding member, music director and performer with the Bare Bones Theatre Ensemble in Harrisburg, and served as director and musical director at Susquehanna Township High School for four years.

In addition to her theatre experience, Sally is a seasoned band leader and ensemble performer.  She was lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the country band, Happy Sally, for seven years.  Sally can currently be found playing as keyboardist and vocalist with Austin-based solo artist, Ben Brown, and Harrisburg legends No Show Ponies, both locally and across the country.  Sally also emcees, sings, plays keys, and music directs for the North Street Supper Club, a summer cabaret series in Harrisburg.  She is also a songwriter, currently working on her first solo album.

Sally has been teaching private voice and acting lessons for nearly 20 years.  She knows how empowering it is to utilize one’s voice as they wish and experience the magic that is music making.  She nurtures her students to feel the power of music and the performing arts in furtherance of their own self-expression by creating a safe place where vulnerability is honored and where the goals of her students are the guiding force of her instruction.
